Please provide enough information for us to understand the work required. We will confirm the price before work begins.
Prices shown on our website or social media may be starting prices. Larger, more complex or additional work may be quoted separately.
An order is accepted when the scope and price have been agreed and, where payment is required in advance, payment has been received.
Payment is normally required before work begins unless otherwise agreed.
Payments may be made securely through Square. The Document Desk does not store customers’ full card details.
You are responsible for ensuring that the information and documents you provide are accurate and that you have permission to provide any information relating to another person.
The Document Desk will not knowingly invent qualifications, employment history, experience, achievements or other factual information for CVs, applications or professional documents.
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill and will prepare the work based on the information and instructions you provide.
Where a completion date has been agreed, we will aim to meet it. If no specific completion date has been agreed, the work will be completed within a reasonable time.
If we need further information from you, the completion time may be affected until that information is received.
Unless otherwise agreed, the quoted price includes one reasonable round of amendments relating to the original instructions.
A substantial change of brief, new information provided after the work has been completed, or additional work outside the original request may require a further quote.
The Document Desk can improve the wording, structure, presentation and clarity of CVs, cover letters and applications, but we cannot guarantee interviews, employment, acceptance of an application or any particular outcome.
Final responsibility for checking that factual information is correct before submitting a document remains with the customer.
If you are a consumer purchasing our services online or at a distance, you will normally have a legal right to cancel the contract within 14 days from the day the contract is entered into.
If you want us to begin work during that 14-day cancellation period, we will ask you to expressly request that we start work early.
If you request an early start and then cancel before the service has been fully completed, you may be required to pay a reasonable amount for the work completed up to the time you cancel.
If you expressly request that the service starts during the cancellation period and the service is fully completed within that period, you may lose your right to cancel once the service has been fully performed, provided you have acknowledged this beforehand.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
To cancel, email hello@thedocumentdesk.co.uk and clearly state that you wish to cancel your order.
Please include your name and, where available, your invoice or order number.
If there is a problem with the service provided, please contact us as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to put it right.
Where services have not been provided with reasonable care and skill or do not meet your statutory rights, the remedies available to you under UK consumer law are not affected by these Terms.
Documents and information supplied by customers will be treated confidentially and used only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, administer the order and meet legal or business-record requirements.
Further information about how personal information is handled is contained in our Privacy Notice.
Once full payment has been received, the customer may use the finished document for the purpose for which it was prepared.
The Document Desk may retain its own templates, formatting methods, systems and general know-how.
We may use trusted third-party services such as email, cloud storage, document software and Square to help provide and administer our services.
Where appropriate, software including AI-assisted tools may be used to assist with drafting, proofreading, structure or formatting. Further information is provided in our Privacy Notice.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of the service, please contact:
hello@thedocumentdesk.co.uk
We will aim to deal with complaints fairly and promptly.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version applying to an order will be the version provided or made available when that order is agreed.
These terms preserve the important UK protections: services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, and online service contracts generally have a 14-day cancellation period, with specific rules when a consumer asks you to start work during that period.
